There are two ways to do it. 

1.  Plug one instrument into the instrument input, and use a DI box to connect the second instrument to MIC1.  Set the source to Inst & Mic1. (Preferred)

2.  Plug both instruments into the Line inputs.  Set the source ti Line 1 & Line 2
